Evidence Set #3: Blog Posts

Objective 3: I will include the links to the different blog posts that I have coordinated the writing and posting of regarding different things around camp, written by different individuals. I will also include the links and facebook screenshots of the Director’s blog posts, which I help coordinate the editing and posting of each week.

Activities/Resources:

  • Coordinate with different individuals around camp to make sure that each blog post is written on time

  • Coordinate with Director to get the Director's weekly blog out on time each Friday Afternoon

  • Make sure that I have the necessary pictures that are needed to be posted with each blog

  • Confirm with Director or Assistant Director that everything being posted is high quality content that will enhance the social media image that Camp Tevya is trying to portray

 Evidence Overview:

For this last evidence page on my portfolio, I have posted the screenshots of the blog thumbnails that I have coordinated the creation of. These screenshots are linked to the original blog posts that are located on Camp Tevya's website. These are very important to Tevya's online media presence. They play a huge part in informing families about what has gone on this past week at camp. While the daily Facebook posts and videos are great at showcasing different activities, events or even just daily camp life, these blog posts are much more in-depth. The weekly Director's blog that I post each Friday afternoon contains information regarding everything that happened at camp that week from different special events, to evening activities, to even something humorous that may have occurred that week. These weekly blogs are great for keeping parents and families up with what is going on at camp because they really go into detail, which is what some families really want to see. The daily pictures and occasional videos are great because they show the way campers are having fun and interacting, but the blog is great because it explains each activity and event that happened that week, but from the Director's point of view. The other type of blog post that is displayed here is blog posts written by different people included in the Camp Tevya Community. For example, one of these was written by Melanie Steier, the Tevya host family coordinator, who helps out a great deal with finding international staff host families for their days off. This is a huge help to the camp community, and by having her write a blog about it, it shows other families how great and rewarding it can be to host our staff. Another one was written by our very own Leadership Coordinator, Max Seidman. This blog was all about the Bog Leadership Training classes that he assists in teaching. These different blog posts really enhance Tevya's social media presence because they showcase different things going on in the Tevya community, which the daily facebook posts and videos cannot do. I have learned so much by coordinating the creation of these blog posts such as how to manage people to get their work done on time, catching people at good times to ask them to create blog post content, and making sure that I have all of the necessary content to create high-quality posts.
